CMV: Suicide is a fundamental human right for all people regardless of their situation, and forcing people to live is a form of slavery.

Sounds to me like you're looking for 1 good reason to not commit suicide. That was my first impression. A very solid and well articulated argument to off oneself. I agree with you 100%. I have dealt with depression most of my life, probably 30 years of depression to one degree or another. Many many suicidal thoughts. I'm not sure what you're asking though. Are you saying you want it to be culturally acceptable to say "I want to kill myself" and then want people to not try and stop you? That's never going to happen. No matter who you are someone, if they knew about it, would try and stop you. The truth is it's up to you, anytime you'd like to leave you can. So one can look at this from two points of view I guess, what you see acceptable for yourself and what you see is acceptable for others. Whereas I agree that it's ultimately your own choice making it socially acceptable would be terrible. I mentioned my depression, truly an illness, one that has consumed a lot. There is happiness though, lots of it. I've learned that my brain doesn't work right, it sees things differently. I know there is someone out there you love, admire or whatever, pretend that person is suicidal for whatever reason like so many are. Would you step out of the way? Maybe you try to console them for awhile but would you really step back and let them do it? You can't be with them all the time BUT you HOPE that by trying to stop them that see the delusion. That people do indeed care for them. You're right though, it's a choice, one that nobody care take away from you. All you need is a decent sized hunk of rope or a sharp piece of glass and anytime you like you can leave but it's the quitters way out. I now know what I would've been giving up now that I stuck around. It's worth it for so many reasons.
