CMV:Being professional is based more on how you act/how your business looks than how much money you make.

Here is what I've learned. Opinions are like assholes everybody has one. I am a certified Chrysler master technician. I've worked as an auto mechanic for 20 years now. I have worked for 4 different automobile dealerships and 2 independent repair places. Why so many places? Am I a horrible mechanic? Did I get ever once get fired? No, it has to do with the pay plans and the available amount of work. I am at an independent now, absolutely love it and am in talks to buy it. Different subject for a different time. I only bring it up to say I've worked a lot of different places. The first independent guy I worked for, his shop looked like an episode of hoarders but the people of the community knew him and trusted him so he had tons of work. Now the dealers kept a super clean very large facility, some with Starbucks coffee bars, fresh fruit, breakfast etc. I know very wealthy people who would deal with the one guys mess but wouldn't step foot in the dealer because they trusted him, people talk. I also know other wealthy people who would pay even more money to the dealer so they could sit in air conditioned comfort sipping on lattes. Long story short it's all relative I think.
