CRTC Decision Will Kill Telecom Competition, Guarantees Even Higher Prices: TekSavvy

What is it that you think you're saying exactly? The government has the power to do what it wants. It's doing just that, which is barely enough to placate the public while caving in to the big 3 at every opportunity.

The ability for resellers to sell existing service isn't something that would even be proposed by our current government. If anything they would be trying to find creative ways to abolish it. People either don't understand or are unwilling to accept that the government has their hand in everything the CRTC does and who gets appointed. This decision to not give wholesalers better rates is our government effectively trying to limit these companies that the big 3 are forced to sell to. If wholesalers don't get better rates they can't give better prices, which is why most of them struggle to barely even compete with the big 3 anymore. They are losing their battle to exist, and one day they may not.
