DAE have parents that 'primped' you?

Not sure this is the same, but when I was born, I ended up having a largish, like the size of two quarters long, strawberry on my cheek. It was bright red and it stayed that way all the way up until I was nearly an adult, then it started to calm down, become smaller and skin toned. I didn't know this until recently but my paternal grandma tried to convince my mom (dad out of the picture) to have it removed. My mom said no, it gave me character. My grandma told her I would get bullied by other kids. My mom said well at least she'll be tough. My grandma even offered to pay for it! About a year ago I brought this up to my mom, and she thought it was soooo brave of her to have stood up to my grandma about it. She was so noble for taking the stigmata of having an "ugly" kid (her word) and not "making" me go through surgery. Ya thanks mom, I loved being told in elementary I had ringworm, and no one would touch me, and I super loved everyone in middle and high school thinking I was a whore with a really obnoxious STD. Grrrr /end rant
