Entirely different argument, yes critics are a small subset of consumers, but to say "consumers" as a whole didn't like his special is way off, he's not upset with consumers as a whole, he's upset with professional critics. Critics didn't like it, that's fine. But what's the point of reading a critics review if they're going to say something that's immensely popular isn't good? I can definitely see why he's upset with that, it potentially loses him money when they portray his work a certain way and they have power in the industry. It just makes critics seem like a vestige of the past and unnecessary in modern times if they're this far separated from actual public sentiment, they clearly missed something in their reviews on this one.
