Deal or No Deal

Nah don't take it, sounds like someone getting the bike and either crashed or just didn't enjoy it. So brakes won't be bedded in so you'd have to clean off the discs and bed them in and any other neglect it might of had on a first ride like tyre pressure, hence would probably need a tune up. Also if it was the case of a crash there could be any damage that isn't visible. Also it may be "brand new" but you miss out on the warranty and all the benefits of a new bike and from experience with computer hardware it's a hassle to warranty a product you didn't buy yourself if you do get the info. If you are a bit handy there is so much great content on YouTube to guide you step by step for any repairs or setting up and you don't mind spending a bit or any broken parts which usually aren't covered under warranty might as well go used.

Some tips from experience when buying used.

When buying a used bike always research and check it out first and if you got a mate who rides get them to come with and don't bother with 2020 bikes unless your looking to go all out and want some new technology. Check out the rider if you can look up their social media and check the sort of riding they did to get an idea of how hard it was ridden and see if you can get upgrades with the bike you would get yourself to save some cash. I bought a bike that was built up from the frame and did my research only problem I had was the bearings were dry and creaking which was no hassle and is a common problem to deal with.

One other thing low ball them with a cash offer, don't go so low they block you (would only really happen if you offered like 1k for a 2k bike) but it's better to start low and if they're struggling to sell they might just go for it.
