Dear FBI, the Democratic Party’s Future Rests Upon Your Investigation of Clinton’s Emails

If the investigations wrap up after the nomination, the Democrats are screwed no matter what the outcome is. She could be recommended for indictment, and she'd have McGovern levels of votes no matter what the DOJ/Obama does. Obama pardons? She's a criminal. There's all the proof you need. Obama refuses to follow FBI's recommendation? She'd have already been found guilty in the court of public opinion. Obama goes along with prosecution? That's a whole fucking can o worms right there. Trump or whoever the GOP nominates will go to town on the issue.

As a Democrat this is what really really concerns me. Hillary getting nominated definitely wraps her up with the DNC, and if she goes down after the nomination, she basically takes the DNC down with her all the way. You're looking at losing the entire government, legislature and executive, up and down the ballot. It's a shit-show. If she gets indicted, the people will hold the Democratic party responsible for not vetting their candidate properly. It basically becomes a definitive confirmation of all the establishment closed-door politics that both Bernie and Trump have been railing against for months.

From a self-preservation standpoint, if the indictment doesn't come before the nomination, we need to pray it doesn't come until after the election. And at that point you're looking at an impeachment and a Vice President being given 4 years to mend a broken relationship between the Democrats and the people. One would hope that it would be a great opportunity to make some sweeping changes to DNC leadership, DNC financing rules, and push for legislation towards transparency in government as well as against corrupt campaign finance. That becomes the only way forward that gives the DNC any chance of staying relevant after a Hillary indictment.
