Destiny 2 and Character Transfer

Bungie has confirmed saying that yes, your progress will 100% carry over to the sequel.

In an interview with IGN Bungie’s David “DeeJ” Dague spoke about the developer’s plans for a Destiny sequel.

He was unable to confirm the sequel’s current development status or release window, but explained that the studio was making plans for the future.

“It’s been no secret that we have a ten-year plan for the expansion and evolution of this franchise, and it’s something that we’re always dreaming about,”

“I’ve seen new concept art, I’ve seen new exotic weapons up on people’s screens…it’s a lot of fun to walk around the studio, because there’s always somebody thinking about the next place you’ll go, the next enemy you’ll fight, the next thing that you’ll earn for doing those things.”

Deej also explained the progression for players current guardians and player transfer, the studio intends to allow it and recognizes the attachment players form with their guardians.

“The idea is that the Guardian you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure. If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time.”

He added his personal interest in bringing over the character he’s been playing, saying “I’ve gotten attached to that little guy.”

Damn straight..... That was a big reason I started Destiny, the promise to have our Guardians with us the entire journey.
