Did anyone transition because changing their gender would enhance their life, not because it was literally "do or die"?

Are you serious?

I was just saying that testosterone probably has less downsides all around

Here's a ted talk at [8:55]() that shows that testosterone reduces the primary stress hormone cortisol. In fact it's the bodies only way of reducing cortisol

testosterone, which is the dominance hormone, and cortisol, which is the stress hormone. So what we find is that high-power alpha males in primate hierarchies have high testosterone and low cortisol, and powerful and effective leaders also have high testosterone and low cortisol. So what does that mean? When you think about power, people tended to think only about testosterone, because that was about dominance. But really, power is also about how you react to stress. So do you want the high-power leader that's dominant, high on testosterone, but really stress reactive? Probably not, right? You want the person who's powerful and assertive and dominant, but not very stress reactive, the person who's laid back.

bet you don't spend a lot of time thinking about the small bones in the wrist or toes, but if you ever broke one, you'd be thinning about it a looooot ... You get me?

Pain can either be a sensation or a feeling so I don't know what you're getting at here. For instance loud noises can be painfull to your ear drum, but you don't get a heightened sense of awareness of your ear drum when your listening to loud music. All you feel is pain. In fact when your sad your brain pain receptors activate as if you had broken an arm.

As far as the brain is concerned, a broken heart may not be so different from a broken arm.
