The Documentary that Domino's Pizza Tried to Ban (2016) - How Domino's Pizza bullied and ripped off patented technology from small Aussie business.

To clear up this thread this is what I got from the video:

  • Precision ltd develops on cost a gps tracking implementation.
  • Rolls out step by step with a positive working relationship with Dominoes (contracts unmentioned at this point).
  • At some point an unnamed dominoes employee copies code or implementation details from a tablet computer at a store. Dominoes employee comments on the quality of the implementation to Precision employee.
  • Precision buys parts for roll out.
  • When it comes up to roll out to all (650) the stores, the relationship flips, dominoes allegedly intends to pressure Precision into a bad contract. Precision receives a list of issues with the product that had not been mentioned before and were solved within hours. Precision is invited to a high pressure meeting where they are scrutinized.
  • Dominoes mentions a competitor may be providing a competing product. Precision mentions that this company does not have an existing product to fill the gap.
  • Late 2014 a security issue is brought from Dominoes in concern about the Precision implementation. Precision replies and covers all issues and highlights some Dominoes security concerns on top. Dominoes laywers allegedly accuses Precision of a cyber attack, with incorrect backing documents.
  • At the same time, Dominoes pressures Precision to sign a contract that does not serve Precision's interests.
  • Precision makes a complaint against Dominoes lawyer and the cyber attack complaint was retracted months later.

-At the time of filming a patent dispute is in process with Dominoes v Precision and Precision employee is confident Precision will win the dispute after 3 rounds of evidence.

  • Comments about a Dominoes lawyer's opinion on shareholder information privileges.
  • Various comments from unreliable sources mentioning Dominoes executive having a personal friend in competing tech company that may be providing a reverse engineered version of Precisions' GPS implementation at a higher price than what Precision can supply.

  • Dominoes does not return or pay for gps parts due to ongoing disputes.

The chronology is not perfect and too much of the video is a human attempt to attack an aggressor and not really addressing the core conflict in a manner that would help their legal defence.
