I don't think I'm a Christian anymore

i really understand where you are coming from. there is a lot about the faith that doesn't make sense to me. i think a lot of the problem is that there are some really horrible people out there that feel entitled to hi-jack the messages send from god and inject bits of their own agenda into it. the best example of this is in how many different versions of the bible are out there. different christian groups use different versions of the bible. some versions leave out entire books! others add books. from this we can assume that god does not intervene to preserve the purity of his message. if that was the case there would only be one version. its really impossible to say which version is the correct one or that a perfectly correct one exists. its safer to assume that they all contain flaws. the shitty part about this is that it means we don't get to be lazy. we can't just let other people tell us what the word means or even trust that the word we read is actually divine. we need to read it and carefully analyze it. if it doesn't fit with what we know is right then we can assume that the wisdom is too much for us to understand at this point in our lives or its not of god.

i find what is written about homosexuality in the bible isn't really worth much worry. jesus was on earth for over 30 years and didn't bother to say anything about homosexuality. i have a heard time believing he would care about that much. everything he said and did leads me to believe there are FAR more important spiritual issues to concern ourselves with. then after he was crucified he comes back to say "oh btw, i forgot to tell you, don't be fags!". it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. why wouldn't he have included that in his teachings while he was mortal? paul had a lot of very good things to teach us but he wasn't the direct mouthpiece of god and we need to remember that.
