He was a gaslighter and he married someone who is just as abusive as he his. I knew something was odd when after every girlfriend he'd talk about how crazy they were. It wasn't until he met his wife that things started going down hill. She would claim that I was an asshole for the way I would talk to her, but it was one of those things where she'd make some quip and I'd retort. I always thought it was kind of playful though. Well, she convinced my friend that I was an asshole after a physical fight that she tried to start with me. She didn't talk to him for two days, and he said he was going to kill himself. They ended up getting married a couple weeks latter. Not spontaneously, though, it had been in the works for most of the year. I didn't go because I didn't want to cause a scene. Haven't heard from him since. But the time away made me realise that I wasn't exception to his bullshit. Even with me he would deny or not remember past events I would bring up, even things that weren't bad, like taking credit for something we worked on. Or, if I had a problem he would always flip script and make it my fault for having to problem. Glad he's out of my life.
