Yeah, it's absurd. No one on YouTube, her primary platform, even knew this whole thing happened. There's no way that so many angry comments directed at yourself would have felt good, so I'm not saying there's nothing to be sad about, but jesus, there really was simply no reason that she couldn't just move on after a day or two.

The only reason I can think of for her not moving on was that she was just so incensed by the idea that someone might think she was accidentally a little racist (not necessarily my opinion, I'm just laying out the perspective), that she had to make a big ruckus about it and get the last word in through her YouTube video about the topic.

I have seen all her videos, many of them multiple times so I'm definitely a fan of her content and the perspectives she brought to the table, and I'm saddened by the news. I also have empathy for her. But I think in some part this was always going to happen, sooner or later, given her book sales and just how much time she's spent on YouTube.
