Drug court giving families a chance to break the cycle of opioid use

I was an addict well still am but I am almost 3 years sober Heroin and pills were my top drug choices but I did everything you can name. I got busted because I called the police to come save a girls life because she OD in my car. I have been on probation for almost 3 1/2 years its great that they are realizing you can't lock everyone up. But at the same time they leave all that shit on your record like 4 different charges because they found dope and a needle in the car when they came to give her narcan. The fucked up thing though is it makes it so fucking hard to get a decent job people don't give a shit if most of my charges were dismissed or are pending due to me being on probation or when I tell them I am almost 3 years sober they just see me as a criminal. And believe me when you go through 100+ applications and 20-30 interviews and get rejected due to that fact it makes you wanna say what is the fucking point and go back I have almost been there luckily I have a awesome family that really helps me out. Otherwise I would be on the streets again or dead. They need to make it were charges won't show up I mean fine make it mandatory testing for a year or two but at least don't hold the charges that long. This is a mental health issue and a physical one I can tell you after doing H for awhile you have to have it or you will be ready to kill yourself due to withdraws. Canada actually has a pretty damn good system set up for addicts to get health and treatment options maybe the U.S. officials could learn a thing or two in that area.
