Whoa thats a ridiculously broad statement there. Do you realise you are opening discussion on the whole intelligence/genetics/race circlejerk right? You might as well say all <insert race here> are stupid because on a global intelligence scale some races have less academic genes than others completely ignoring that intelligence is as much due to daily support, societies expectations and the prevailing socio-economic climate rather than any pure genetic ability to achieve. The fact is, there still isnt clear link to any intelligence genes, in a recent study Nisbett covers this from the opening summary (b) Almost no genetic polymorphisms have been discovered that are consistently associated with variation in IQ in the normal range. however one gaming relevant fact did arise from work done by some older buffers (Flynn Deary etc also covered by Nisbett) appearing to show a relationship between IQ and reaction time but since there are examples of fast reaction times in the animal world we cant use it as proof of a link both ways (high IQ may have good reaction times but someone with good reactions doest necessarily have a high IQ).

Is falling asleep a precursor to low ability? Perhaps he was up all night studying, or spent so much time studying he couldnt get his gaming in so did both, or has a sleep disorder. Perhaps he has parents who taught him alphabet and numbers before he started school, its easy to skip math when youve learned it all your life. Then theres peer pressure, mental issues, hard home life, falling asleep doesnt prove anything.
