I want to be very optimistic, but growing up in Flint (luckily I escaped back in 2008 to move to West Michigan), and being very familiar with the local government and school districts (family are in administrative roles for a school district just outside of Flint, and I have been involved with government projects there), I can’t help but have a sinking feeling that much of this money is going to end up in someone’s pocket.

Flint, and Flint Public Schools are NOTORIOUS for stuff like this. They get grants, and outside funding all the freaking time to make the area and schools better, and the money just ends up in some administrators/public office holders pocket without ever being spent on what it was meant for.

I hope I am proven wrong with this.
