Etiquette lesson goes awry as woman sits on rider's feet on TTC subway - Toronto

The man is in the wrong and the woman is in the right.

With people who seem to believe that they are the only one who exist and feel entitled to put their feet on another seat, the only solution is to make a display of dominance.

Our inner animal

It is not because we have smart phones and cars that we are not still just one chromosome from being a gorilla... We are not much more than (mostly) hairless apes.

When a individual in a group of chimps, in a pride of elks or a wolf pack misbehave, the dominant individual proceeds with a display of dominance. This is an essential part of establishing the hierarchy in order to achieve order.

The misbehaving individual can then decide to fall in or, as seen in this video, he can challenge the dominant individual. The challenge starts with the two parties growling at each other, as seen in the video. The leader must then growl and, more importantly, hold his (her) ground.

If the challenger thinks he has a chance to win and to replace the leader, he then assaults the leader physically.

As this situation did not result in a fist fight, we must assume that the challenger (the man) did not think he had a chance to win, MAKING HIM A WIMP or, what biologists call, a "Beta individual".

The entire analysis of that video in biological terms indicate that the woman was indeed a leader while the male was a beta, a submissive individual who tried to win the fight only at growling but who did not have the guts to assert his dominance.

Under a social aspect

A social analysis of this video tells us that the woman was dominant, knowing she was in the right while the male did not have the decency to admit his wrong doing, which would have resulted him in removing his feet from the seat and allowing the woman to sit.

In every case, the male must therefore be categorized as both antisocial and a wimp.
