Got banned from a Pentecostal church once.
My friend was dating the pastor's (? not sure if this is what they are called in that religion) son at the time and he invited her. She didn't want to go alone so she asked me to come with her. We get there and it's, I guess, a youth group night and there are games and stuff going on. We had fun, as the night progresses we end up in the bathroom, and you know like normal teenage girls do in the bathroom, we end up lifting our shirts up and comparing , I don't know... things (naturally!), well of course someone walks in on us and we pull our shirts down very quickly (it looks super suspicious) and leave the bathroom. The girl who walked in on us leaves after she is done in there and we see her walk up to one of the adults and they look right at us. Strike one.
Well, maybe 10 minutes after that everyone is directed to sit and watch the band sing christian rock music, pretty normal stuff I suppose. There is a projector that was showing a bunch of you know, god stuff. Well, it kept losing the signal and it would say on the screen "No Signal" and well of course that prompted us to joke with eachother, probably not as quietly as we thought we were being, that there was no signal from God here, etc. etc. This of course drew more than a couple dirty looks from the chaperones of the event. Strike Two.
After this the preacher (?) gets up and starts saying preacher stuff and asks everyone to stand and pray for forgiveness of their sins/transgressions from the past week. My friend and I stand up and were pretty taken aback when suddenly all of these teenagers start saying out loud all of their sins (and I mean like yell talking loud). One girl next to us we heard saying "I'm sorry Lord, I knew I shouldn't have slept with him but I was weak" and others were all saying very personal things. Not having anything to contribute myself I start saying the lyrics from Janis Joplin's Mercedes Benz while my friend kept chanting "yes lord, please help her get a mercedes benz. she so deserves one lord!" The night ended a few minutes after the group confession and everything was fine, we thought.
The next day her very soon to be ex-boyfriend told her that his dad asked him to pass the message along that we weren't welcome back if we were to continue with the same level of disrespect that we showed the previous night. Oh well what can ya do?
