Everyone watched him struggling to silence his phone.

Fuck! Any permanent damage to your father? Hope he got a decent sum of money for that. That had to hurt pretty damn bad.

IMHO old people shouldn't be allowed to drive past a certain age. Just like that old guy on Valentine's that "Got confused and panicked" as he was backing out of his spot in a parking lot.

He went to buy his wife of 56 years a card, and ended up plowing into like 9 cars or something. Luckily no one was injured. I feel bad for the guy because he was simply trying to get something for the love of his life, like every year previous... But damn.

Sorry for the tangent, but I have another example I actually witnessed where someone actually got killed due to an old persons negligence.

There's a highway out by my house that's 60 mph. Typical highway, 3 lanes on each side. What's odd about it, is there's stop lights every 2 miles or so. Some of these lights you can turn left, some of them you cannot. At the ones you cannot, you have to take an exit lane about a half mile before the stop light. When you take the exit lane, it has its own light to turn left, to ensure oncoming traffic is stopped.

Well, the intersection in question recently changed. The straight lane and left turn lane used to be the same lane, and when it turned green oncoming traffic would be stopped.

This old lady stopped at the red light in the very most left hand lane. (Straight lane ONLY.) There's actually a big red neon sign that has an arrow pointing left with a circle around it, and a slash through it.

Well, the light turns green and this old lady apparently doesn't see that big "DO NOT FUCKING TURN LEFT HERE" sign, so she waits for oncoming traffic to clear, or so she thought, and starts to turn left at a snail's pace. About that time, a bullet bike comes barreling through the intersection, and you guessed it, T-Bones her car.

I'm sitting at the red light for traffic moving East/West and the accident happened to people moving North/South. So, I had a completely clear view of everything while stopped. It was hands down the most violent accident I have ever witnessed. That poor guy had to have died on impact. I hope to god that he did, because he skipped across the road like a stone on water- for a long long ways. Just completely thrashing, bouncing his head off the road with every single roll of his body. Imagine someone falling/rolling down the mountainside while skiing or snowboarding...at 60 mpg.. on blacktop. His bike.... Totally non existent. The thing practically disintegrated on impact. The only thing left of it was the front forks, and the front tire. Everything else was in pieces no bigger than your hand. Police came and covered him up with a sheet.

That old lady killed that man, because of her negligence.
