I think there're def some red flags with this whole situation. I get having your alone time and everything by if you two have been dating for almost 2 years you should have meet all of his friends by now. Maybe you two have different personality types and he's trying to be respectful of that. My boyfriend is kind of shy so taking him out to wild parties is a no go. However, one night I went out to a place I knew he would hate and texted saying, this isn't a place you would like to be I'll come over later. He was quiet about it when I came over that night and I felt pretty shitty because even if it wasn't the place he wanted to be I still should have extended the offer and gave him that choice. Has he ever expressed this kind of remorse? What about family events?
