I [F27] feel frustrated about him [M31] not helping with our move into a new home

If he HONESTLY feels his "authority" is being undermined by you taking charge of something, then he's a sexist and you shouldn't be with him anyway.

I'm not a native english speaker, so maybe authority wasn't the right word. I think he mainly gets upset because he feels like he has to justify to me why he wants/doesn't want something and that's upsetting to him? For example... I wanted a cream colored couch, he wanted a dark blue (almost black) one. I tried to compromise with a dark grey one, our current couch is the same shade, so I thought that was ok. But I think I still made him feel like his opinion doesn't matter I guess. That's not my intention though.
