Facts are a biatch for the right

You cite a counter argument yet you don't end up countering it with an argument of your own, instead you just cite an issue regarding the current system, which is irrelevant to the argument itself, which serves to show that people WERE NOT in fact paying that high tax number. No one is arguing that people didn't pay more back then than they did today, they are arguing that saying "in the 1950's there was a 90% tax" as an argument in favor of AOC's 70% tax plan does not support that point, as people were not paying 90%, they were paying an average of 45%. The purpose of bringing up the 90% tax bracket is not meant to show that people payed more back then than they do today, it serves to "show" people, that in what is widely-regarded as one of the most successful times in the United States' economic history people had an EXTREMELY tax bracket and it also serves to rationalize the extreme notions that AOC is suggesting by saying that in the past people payed an even higher tax bracket and met it with little resistance. This argument is meant only to mislead.
