MLK's peaceful protests were able to allow people of color access to more opportunities, but it did not save us from violence.

Will antifa save us from more violence?

People are calling you names like bootlicker because historically, moderates have sided with fascists or otherwise betrayed the social movements they pretended to support.

I think an argument can be made that moderates mostly sit things out until one regime gets deposed and another takes over.

What we want is to come into our own power and live free from the harassment of those at the top.

If you support a society in which everyone has enough to enjoy a decent standard of living and is free from being a wage slave or not pursuing their life's desires, I think you can call that "compassion" based.

Here in r/Anarchism, we are dedicated to dismantling these social hierarchies and replacing them with free association between equal individuals. Those leaders dont have any more credibility in my eyes than the "internet people" and probably even less.

So where are the anarchist leaders then? I would love to be able to organize around and support anarchist movements, but the only ones I see are ones aligning with groups like antifa.

This is where the moral puritanism stuff comes into play. I want to see a classless society as much as everyone here but I don't think there is a realistic, viable alternative to that within even a single human lifetime.

Violent revolution isn't going to do it. When has it ever done it?

It has to be earned with gains. Some larger than others. If we could have had a two-term Bernie presidency that gets through things like universal health care, reformed campaign finance, etc, that would be one LARGE step in the direction of a classless society. And those gains could have built an even stronger movement around leftist politics, building up steam, because people's lives would have improved measurably within a short time frame.

I just don't see where the productivity is in "bash the fash" and "lol you're a moderate because you don't want a violent revolution."
