It varies based on a lot of factors like location and systems of support. Personally, I’m kinda lucky and the longest part was finding and scheduling an appointment with a doctor. Again, probably a lot of luck on my end, but I was able to start gaht treatment the next morning. In terms of how long it takes for things to start taking effect, it varies but generally it’s like a second puberty. So, to be very general, most times it takes roughly 1 year for things to reach some effects and maybe around 2-5 years or so for maximum effects depending on the situation. I’m only 9 months in so I can only personally vouch for my experience and what I’ve found doing some research.
