Florida lawmakers react to Trump-supporting mob storming U.S. Capitol

A preview of coming attractions, I'm afraid.

This country has a lot of REALLY REALLY pissed off people and none of them are going to be appeased any time soon. The far-left are pissed off and willing to burn cities down, and the far-right is now pissed off and willing to riot in the capital. And the center isn't calming the waters at all. If anything, they are throwing gas on the fire hoping the inferno benefits themselves and cements themselves in power.

You got an incoming president that already looks weak, leading a party that wants radical reforms that will only further increase the divides (pack the courts, ending the filibuster, adding more states that politically benefits their party, etc). You got a Congress of mostly millionaires that doesn't listen to anyone but the rich and their corporate donors. They voted overwhelmingly for a nearly trillion dollar defense funding bill. They then voted for a gigantic COVID relief bill filled with pork and money for corporations and foreign countries, and then they spent two months arguing about whether or not to give Americans a paltry $600 check.

And you wonder why people are upset? This is going to get worse because Congress isn't going to change. They actually want to go BACK to the neocon/neolib years of the Clintons and Bushs and Obamas... the same era that lead ultimately to Donald Trump.
