Cultural differences

Don’t complain about the heat. Don’t complain about the people. Traffic is horrible everywhere from 12AM to 11:57 PM in most places. Everything is deep fried or cooked in a way that it is actively trying to clog your arteries. Homeless people are everywhere, and no they don’t really have assistance. Carry extra socks with you, either rain or sweat will soak them before noon. Most places will not accept bills larger than $20, mostly because bill exchanges are time consuming, not because of counterfeit (though it does happen). If you go fishing and catch a square grouper, it is illegal to keep, but you can put it back or turn it in. Florida winter was this weekend, you missed it, it lasted about 3 hours (new record?). Try a Cuban sandwich. If you can, find a good Brazilian restaurant and try Picanha (pea-kaahn-yah), medium rare (no sauces should be needed). Pecan pie. Moon pie and RC cola. Barbecue platters. Tailgate parties at sporting event parking lots. Sunscreen is a must, though the locals will laugh at you for applying it. Most “gun shots” you hear are poorly modified, clapped out cars, being driven well beyond the drivers ability.

Have fun.

Go to EPCOT, find someone from your side of the globe, and say hi in a loud fashion or talk about your home.
