Don't pretend to be a moderate when you follow it up with that second quote. I consider myself to be center-left on this issue. The biggest issue we have is conservatives are convinced that if they give an inch on gun control, they'll lose a yard. Clearly, something needs to be done and there's a HUGE middle ground between confiscating guns and doing jack shit.

Definitely not opposed to making it harder to purchase guns, especially rifles. Ideas I think are practical are raising the age to buy a gun to 25, have at least a month waiting period, mandatory attendance of a safety training, require proof of owning a gun safe, a mental health check (for each and every purchase), and like 5 non-relative charachter testimonies (at least two from professional superiors).

Brains finished developing at 25, and if you can't get five people willing to put their word that you're of a high enough character to get a gun - fuck off because you're vastly more likely to be the type of person who does these despicable mass shootings.

If you're a stable adult, you deserve to own a gun for hunting, and more importantly- self defense. Too easy to get them here though, need to raise the bar in a big way; because enough is fucking enough.
