Game modes in shooters, why do they die off so quickly?

Now, things are a bit backwards. A huge number of players got their start with Bad Company or Bad Company 2, and have a much more positive association with those games than the later entries. A new Bad Company with enhanced destruction physics, an emphasis on Rush, smaller teams, and four player squads... well it would get some people that have long abandoned the franchise very excited is all I'm saying.

BFBC2 is surprisingly still active, or at least since I played a few years ago like 2015 or so. I dunno how active the community is but a lot of the hardcore fanbase still play the game. Though I think servers got shut down in 2017 or 2018 if I remember correctly.

Modern Warfare was an enormous success by tapping into this era after giving it a long break. There's a world where Bad Company 3 is a huge success today.

How exactly was it a success? All modern warfare did was copy battlefields foruma with both warzone and ground war. even though cod fans refuse its a copy of battlefield it practically is a carbon copy.

I thought that made for a better, more intimate game. Conquest just doesn't have the thrill of planting the bomb while under fire from all directions.

I remember the bomb mode being the most popular on BFBC2 over conquest. I remember everyone played the hell out of that mode.

I don't know if BC3 is likely, but I hardly think a 2014 article is appropriate evidence 6 years later.

DICE takes times with their games. Their games take years to develop, 3 - 4 years to make a single title. If they were gonna release a BFBC3 they would have by now. I'm pretty sure they would have released a BFBC3 over BF1 since the demand for it has been high over the last several years. The hype for it went back up when bf4 was starting to lose interest, then everyone got exited when they announced a WW1 battlefield because it was unique and there aren't many WW1 fps games out there.

Realistically I don't see it happening since battlefield numbers are dying. Hell I've been wanting a BFBC3 since I got introduced to bfbc2 but I don't ever see it happening. Then again, I also never thought halo 3 was ever gonna come to PC but then i343 got ahold of the IP and they finally brought that dream to life.
