Game Threads Index + Daily Discussion (March 23, 2019)

An annoying thing I realized about the Dunc'd On podcast is how little they talk about the positives of a player lol unless it's an unexpectedly good year for them or they've made a huge jump.

Like when they were doing their rankings for top 10, they started with KD/Giannis as their #1 respectively and had some nice things to say. Then they went into a discussion of Steph and Nate was like yeah you're seeing the gentle decline of Steph, not getting to the hoop/finishing as well, less athleticism, taking more 3s to compensate, and not shooting as well in general, gets injured etc etc basically all the holes in Steph's game. And then they ranked him #2/#3. I was like ??? You just spent 5 minutes describing all his negatives it sounded like he was barely top 10.

As they continued down the rankings they just kept talking about all their criticisms of the players, it makes them all sound pretty bad the way they frame it.

They do this with teams too. When a good team wins (GSW, Raps, Rockets whatever), they spend half the time discussing what that team did wrong...even though they won. You wouldn't even be able to tell who won the game just based on their discussion sometimes. I remember during Warriors/Cavs Finals livestreams they would talk about the Cavs were outplaying the Warriors in the halfcourt as a major talking point even though GSW was shooting better/had more transition points & was handily winning the game....it's just such a strange disconnect.
