As a follow up, since everyone's got an opinion (but nearly zero advice)...I apparently have to give a detailed explanation of things to put perspective in place here…
1.) I purchased Mario Strikers and Octopath 2 on a B1G1 last week for $60’ish.
2.) I purchased HG, SS, and Platinum on a B2G1 preowned for $160’ish.
3.) I purchased White, Black, and White 2 on a B2G1 preowned for a $160ish.
I then purchased a copy of Octopath 2 from a seller on OfferUp for $30, I assume as he bought a couple and sold one off.
1.) I returned Mario Strikers and Octopath 2 to the store – with receipt, sealed, and got a refund.
2.) Platinum shipped and came in the mail. I received it, the other games were not shipping.
3.) I cancelled my remaining orders and returned Platinum in store, with receipt.
Today I was going to grab a copy of Mega Man Battle Network, and hence had the points redemption issue.
For all you saying “you’re trying to play the system” – please explain to me how? You don’t even get points until a few days after the item ships / clears, so it’s not like I had a substantial amount of points. We're talking about $10 in points in my account to save some money on a purchase.
For those of you saying “you’re a flipper” – again, please explain to me how? I understand that the Pokemon DS carts have an inflated value, and the only reason I grabbed them was the B2G1 promotion would average the prices down on 3 games to a palatable number. But if I was a flipper, why did I return Platinum vs. just flip it off and make $30-40? Am I buying things in bulk with the intention to resell?
Since when it it a terrible thing to take advantage of a promotion?
