No they don't. You are just wrong.

You have some proof of this? Or is this something you just believe or have only anecdotal evidence?

They respond with their reason that it's faith.

That's not a reason, that's a way of saying "I don't know," without sounding like they don't know. It is certainly the point where logic and reason seemingly stop functioning regarding whatever topic is under discussion.

I'm an atheist, but it's this rhetoric which will forever not convince religious people of your opinion, rather turn any of the skeptical ones against you.

You have some proof of this? Or is this something you believe?

And guess what? As a Gen-Xer I give zero fucks about how this makes a believer "feel." I spent the last 50 years of my life listening to their bullshit "reasons" regarding numerous cultural artifacts that have been holding portions of our population in check (if not as actual hostages) while granting other portions privilege. Well, that time seems to be drawing to a close in our cultural...and it can't happen soon enough.

Here's a hint: If you "feel" bad when your religious bullshit gets called out using logic and critical thinking, then perhaps it's your beliefs that are causing you pain and not reality.
