Gender differences in anime preferences

It's insulting because I don't accept fan-service (sexual or otherwise, as in deliberately setting up the story in a way to please fans who want something other than what the show is about) in any other medium, yet when it's an anime clearly I must be a different person and love fan-service even in my otherwise serious drama. It doesn't need to be in the show, it could just as easily be an OVA or post-credit thing where it's not going to alienate the people who aren't your typical "anime-viewer".

Fan-service is meant to please the audience, that's all there is. What that exactly means is beyond me. Anyway, you mention that alienates people, the casual watcher. In what way? Fan-service is in almost all anime, it all comes down to whether or not you like that form of fan-service.

"I don't mean as well that we should never have sexy scenes with women in them, however, when an anime has multiple sexual situations where women are shown off for silly reasons and very little for the men it's quite clearly pandering to a target audience. I'm not okay with being lumped in with a bunch of guys who are watching anime for the pretty girls."

Why not ignore it than? And what do you mean lumped in? Who are you being lumped in with? Men typically have higher sex drives than women, it's just biology, that's all. And silly reasons? I believe that mostly depends on the person for what constitutes as silly reasons. And what do you mean it's not pandering to men if it's sexualizing the women?
