Genuine question, why is it always 30 OR 60FPS?

It'd be nice to have the option of uncapped framerate so those who do prefer a wildly fluctuating fps over a capped lower framerate could make the choice themselves.

However, at least to me the wildly fluctuating framerate on lower framerates (so something like fps jumping between 35 and 50 constantly) is much more annoying than a solid 30 fps, even though lower framerate has its own downsides.

On higher framerates (on a high refresh rate monitor of course) the fluctuating fps isn't as noticable (so for example fps jumping between 100 and 120 isn't as bad as it's with fps jumping between 30 and 40) and I generally leave framerate uncapped if the game runs at 100+ fps.

But if the game's running at 65-75, I'd rather just cap the framerate to 60.

Though as mentioned, on consoles it'd be nice to have the option to choose uncapped framerate even if probably most people would prefer the capped framerate due to the mentioned downsides of wildly fluctuating fps.
