Golf: US Open

Avid golf watcher and these are the picks I've taken, feel pretty secure regardless:

Dustin Johnson (+600) - 2u to win 6.5u - Dominated in 2017, best player in the world by current PGA rankings. Won three events in a row heading into the Masters'. Also played for the victorious USA team in the Ryder cup. I could easily see a back to back win for good ol' DJ.

Jason Day (+900) - 2u to win 9u - Day is currently ranked 3rd in the world. Two runner-ups among five top-10s from six starts at the year's second major (Source: ESPN). Hasn't finished worst than 9th at the past four US Opens (may have potential to place a top 5 finish if you are interested, on my book it is currently only +200, but most likely a secure bet nonetheless). Take this how you will, he is also one of the most mentally strong players in the game and he is going to need that strength especially with the weather predictions for Friday.

Jordan Spieth (+1000) - 2u to win 10u - Won the US Open in 2015, strong golfer with a competitive attitude. This man just fucking hates losing. Still a young guy, only 23 years old. Two time major champion. Finished T2 at Dean & Deluca (-9) and mentioned in an interview that he believes to win the open its gonna take at least "being 5 to 10 under". Despite his underwhelming performance at the Masters' (-1) I believe Spieth will be back with a vengeance and wants people to remember his name.

Rory Mcilroy (+1000) - 2u to win 10u - T7 at the Masters' with a -3, but not as stellar performance at the Players' Championship, but this is partially due to a rib injury he had suffered prior. He is currently saying he is perfectly fit and rehabilitated and, all in all, ready to face the US Open. Rory has never given a shitty performance without some sort of cause, so he is always one to look out for. He has won four majors and is always a contender within the top 5 anywhere he plays. Despite his injury, he claims there will be no limitations to his swing. He also mentioned that if he gets a fast start and breaks away early, he believes that he will secure that lead until the end. He is one of my riskier picks, but I really liked his odds and looking back to his 2011 record breaking performance, I've been a huge fan ever since. I consider this my bias pick, so tread carefully.

Shane Lowry (+5500) - 1u to win 55u - Fuck I just love this guy and really liked the value. Despite not being anywhere close the a favorite, he won the WGC Bridgestone in 2015 and was runner-up in the 2016 US Open. He's basically my guilty-pleasure pick, but if he wins, it wins BIG. This fat irishman can really fucking crank a drive too. Don't fear the Beard.

I will continue to update this thread if people enjoy it and potentially give more advice regarding Top 5 finishers and other bets if asked. Good luck to all and "follow me, everything is alright." - Uncle Kracker
