I got to be missing something

Am I emotionally involved, yes I am. This is someone I care about so absolutely I see it differently to you.

But if you are involved in the TPD/IME space 5 days a week the reality is your views are just as, if not more biased than my anecdotal experience.

It’s very easy to say the people who complain are whinges/difficult people but this is ignorant, probably a distorted view from working in this space. My friend showed me three psychiatrists online, 2 were completely independent from her and the insurer, one was the insurers chosen IME.

The two independents had between 5-6 reviews each and all were fairly benign.

The insurers IME had about 4 pages of reviews, almost all were highly critical siting a particular MO where the psychiatrist details random causes I.e. trauma not work related but due to alcoholism or poor upbringing.

This psychiatrist had almost a decade of IME reports that completely exonerate the employer/workplace and they are the primary IME for insurers. People writing a review effectively detailed a pattern of behaviour this psychiatrist and the insured were engaging in.

If you are reading this and think I’m jaded or ignorant you are either one of these IME’s or you are just very ignorant.

Either way I’m not sure discussing this further has any bearing on the system.

Keep making your money, I wish you well.
