We only have one planet, might as well work toward less pollution just because we can. Why wallow in our own filth? Your money won't count for shit if the planet itself falls to hell, and whether you think it will or won't fall to shit, why not plan for a worst case scenario? A carbon tax in and of itself will not fix our planet. There's a lot of actual work to be done, so the fact that you'd write it off as "carbon tax propaganda" just shows me you have done absolutely no research into this subject at all.
