Each scene that starts with a joke always gets more and more awkward, and eventually leads to pure cringe. The first scene with the Deer in Lenny’s bedroom started great, then all of a sudden he makes a meaningless joke about Roxanne’s mother. Not only did this kill the joke, but to kill it even more, both Lenny and Keithie launch their washing basket of clothes at the deer and eventually distract it with a stuffed monkey. What a waste of time.

The scene which I found the most awkward, in an almost cringe way, was when Lenny met Tommy Cavanaugh. Lenny was trying to act soft and innocent, then his daughter Becky keeps asking why his voice is shaky, until the point where he yells at her. The rest of the scenes with Tommy were pure cringe. Please go back to wrestling, Steve Austin. You will never be as great an actor as Dwayne Johnson.

The final thing that was most annoying, yet supposed to be funny, was the catchphrases throughout the movie. The first one was “WHUUUAAAAT?” and the second was “That didn’t happen.” Both killed any joke that was made before each catchphrase, such as when Lamonsoff broke the table followed by “that didn’t happen.”

There are a lot more cringey scenes in the movie, but I can’t be bothered to label them all. Lets just say that some alterations to the cast would potentially have made it better.
