My boyfriend texted me at 4am saying he had a panic attack and I'm so damn happy

Why are these comments so quick to completely demonize someone who's trying to get better or assume that they haven't gotten or can't be better? Like, what she did was unacceptable, no one should argue otherwise. Fine, but why is everyone here so cynical that people can never change? People grow, they evolve. That's life and if you don't believe that, you're not paying attention. There are people who don't change, but there's plenty who do as well.

Maybe I'm just too forgiving but I see no reason to doubt that OP genuinely feels extremely sorry for what happened. Does that change it? Obviously not, but, I feel like if you learn from your failures and don't make them again (which, we have no way of knowing whether OP actually has or hasn't) then, forgiveness is not out of reach for almost anyone. It would be a different story if OP didn't feel remorse, for those who don't feel remorse I don't believe in forgiveness but, at least from what I can tell here she does.
