my instructor gets this too, and with his permission i will tell you his theory. his friends who have gyms on the east coast gets these calls as well while his gym is in the west coast, so he assumed that a ton of people get these calls. after i showed him this thread it seemed to confirm his hypothesis.

he believes this is not just one person but a group that has been hired by an organization to troll the competitors of it's members. he believes the sheer volume is just too much for one mentally disturbed person. because of the accent that these girls have he believes "she" is a globally outsourced call center who can call us during their office hours which is our evening class times. he said that they bank on the fact that most gyms would be very patient and polite for a potential girl who is brown. once they catch on, and even after they try to ignore/block these calls, the fact that she/they keeps calling and then becomes a nuisance in their phone/lead system. to quote my coach its like a form of "chinese water torture": harmless but very VERY annoying over time.

what group would do this you may ask? to those who been on the forums for a few years do you remember a group who taught gyms how to start "internet assassination" campaigns? our coach was a victim of that and he thinks its the same group behind it.

i actually kind of believe him for one reason. if its an individual she doesn't need to change her numbers because all she needs to do is keep calling new gyms. however, the fact that the numbers change drastically and its the same girl calling seems to indicate that she is actively reaching out to all these gyms. i wonder if you gym owners can collectively do something about this.
