The plot of Halloween II dealt with the economic depression surrounding a smalltown whose residents can no longer afford health insurance and thus the local hospital, bereft of patients, was forced to make major budget cuts regarding the amount and quality of the staff they can provide, mostly consisting of drunk doctors and woefully inept nurses, and it has even reached the point where they cannot even afford to keep the hallways lit. Truly, this was a tale of economic horror that is enough to chill anyone's bones.

Oh, there's also something or other to do with a serial killer or some such bullshit, but that's more an indictment on the country's failure to handle mental health issues than anything else.
