yes, and he was bad to ignore it. BUT! She was asking the almost-impossible, for which she must share the blame

So she was stupid to expect any different; it was bound to happen again. This burnt chold stuck her hand right back in the fire. for which she must share the blame

there is no excuse to not pull out.

You are not a young man, are you? THese things are almost impossibly hard to control. As you get older, you learn to read the signals and control better, but in teens and 20s? No chance. It's an unreasonabe request, for which she must share the blame
