Help!! Can’t resolve differences in biblical Easter accounts.

Cousin died last week. Life has been busy since.

Here's my view on the four hard verses, easiest to hardest:

  • 1 Corinthians 15:3-5 Jesus appeared to Peter, then the twelve yet Luke 24:36-49 only has Peter then nine. The explanation I give is that the 'twelve' is a designation given to Jesus's inner circle. Thomas eventually sees Jesus. Especially because of that, appearing to the only living eleven I'd classify as appearing to the Twelve. For those who think Twelve has to be a literal twelve, Acts 1:21-22 gives a pass "Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus was living among us, beginning from John’s baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection.” The new twelfth guy saw the resurrected Jesus.

  • Matt 28:9-10 Told Jesus would meet in them in Gallilee" The typical answer to this is that Jesus met the disciples in Jerusalem first. Later, because of this message and earlier, they knew to meet Jesus at Galilee later. John 20-21 has this ordering of events.
