Herpes anxiety a dealbreaker? - Me [26 M] with my GF[26 F] of 1 mo

I only have the regular Herpes Simplex

what does this mean? Both HSV1 and HSV2 infect orally and genitally. I'm not sure why one would be considered "regular" and the other not.... Maybe you meant "more common" as in oral HSV1 is the most common way HSV infects.

but I know enough to know that this is something that only carries when you come in contact with the blisters while they burst or with the actual unhealed wound (when it has not scabbed over yet).

are you trying to say that herpes is only infectious to others when there is a sore present or contact is made with a sore? If so that is completely incorrect. Although herpes carriers are most infectious during visible outbreaks they most often infect when there is no outbreak due to asymptomatic viral shedding(when the virus is shed from healthy looking skin without any symptoms to the host). Up to 70% of herpes transmission occurs when there is no outbreak or sore visible

he remains free of that annoyance to this day,

has he actually been tested for HSV or you going off the fact that he hasn't shown any sign of infection? If that's your line of reasoning, you would be off because the high majority of people infected with herpes don't have visible and/or recognizable outbreaks so the absence of outbreaks does not at all mean one is not infected with herpes.

And while having an outbreak without the common symptoms is rare and weird,

Actually this is way off as well. Most people with herpes will have outbreaks that they don't recognize to be herpes outbreaks. I've read studies where the majority of people that were tested via blood test for HSV2 and turned up positive later confessed that they DID have past possible outbreaks that they brushed off as ingrown hairs or razor burn.

it comes with the added benefit of not being contagious.

at anytime herpes carriers can be infectious to others, outbreak or not

You actually need to come into contact with an open sore to catch this.

NO. You REALLY need to do some research on the virus you carry.
