Hi Bill (and everyone else), My name is Jan Przelozny, I am part of a new organization titled "African Umbrella Trust Organizational Network" (AUTO-NET).. Our aim is to help facilitate the new digital currency revolution in Africa, with hopes that our work will help set a precedent for the rest of the world.. We have an exciting team which includes many members of the bitcoin foundation (all/most of the current African Members included), members from the African Digital Currency Association (ADCA), the CEO from CoinTelegraph (largest digital currency media outlet in the world) and many more significant people in the Digital Currency world as members in our rapidly growing team. I myself am part of a new bitcoin exchange in Australia, but am also working with AUTO-NET to help see through the digital currency revolution globally (as is our collective ambition)...
Currently we are operating on a 4-tier level, 1- Charity and economic development work (including farming projects, children's programs and more. We plan to name this sector www.CoinsForAfrica.org (the site is online but in very early stages of development). Combined with our own projects, we will be seeking to unite many charities across Africa, with an aim to expand globally in future (www.CoinsForEarth.org is already registered). We will seek to establish trust through through inclusion of influential, trusted, and reputable community members as managers throughout various nations/regions... Members were even in Sierra Leone helping fight the ebola outbreak (Mustapha Cole, president of the Sierra Leone Liberty Group is a key member of our team)
2- Digital Currency Promotion. We have many members from the bitcoin foundation and various other groups such as the African Digital Currency Association (ADCA) who are regularly hosting seminars throughout Africa.
3- Radio. We are launching a decentralized online radio station that will also be broadcast nationally. We have one radio tower under construction in Botswana, another planned in Sierra Leone, and high hopes to expand much to many more nations/regions in the near future.
4- Marketplace and merchant adoption. We are building a marketplace and currently teaming up with Bitsoko in Kenya, and coinapult (coinapult offers "locks" which eliminate bitcoin price volatility entirely). We function as a non-profit organization, therefore we are aiming to invest as much of our profits back into the community. A very very early version is currently showcased at www.AfricanUmbrellaTrust.org , however this will so be completely redeveloped plus incorporate payment processing from coinapult (bitcoin locks service), among others...
We would love very much if you would be involved, perhaps initially as an anonymous advisor (depending how you feel comfortable). We already have contacts within the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and we will love to work together on some level to help facilitate economical development in developing regions.
In Summary, we are a rapidly growing collective working on the top level of the digital currency industry in Africa, but also internationally. We are at the forefront of the revolution and our aim to is to promote economic development, while believing charity is an important function that can help to promote change.
