Yeah, had one of those "nice guys" flake out on me this week. He can never follow instructions, never completes a job, and just causes me LOADS of irritation. But of course, he gets along with everyone just fine, he just can't get anything DONE!
Oh yeah, and he likes to drink, and likes to let his wife run his life. He got his son in law to do some "work", and I'm sure the idiot figured if dad in law can bill out hours he never worked( only because he'd work 50 hours some weeks and overtime is not allowed), that he could pull that shit too.
Takes 2 hour lunch breaks, pads his start and stop times, and spends 2-3 hours in the shop smoking and chit chatting. Notices that I'm around most days, keeping an eye on things, but it does not dawn on him that I can do math. Bills out 80 hours, I chop out 2 hours a day for his lunch breaks, so he's down to 65{about 10 days work} and ignore that start and stop times. But his supervisor doesn't, and it gets knocked down to 60. Even that is generous to a fault.
So, this guy has an unholy shit fit, runs around screaming threats to everyone, everyone ignores his crazy BS. He's on disability for a chronic case of the squirts, and uses weed all day while his wife is off working. I suppose that's why he doesn't get the whole supervisor, boss, someone has to sign off on your time thing. And of course screaming, threatening to call the cops, and generally behaving like a nut off his meds is a BAD idea.
Eventually the cops show up, are like, WTF? Cops gets him calmed down, and tuned into reality. Sure, he can go to court over what he thinks is lost pay. Filing fee is $85, server fee is $45-70, and of course, he has to PROVE he was doing work, and what he did.
Did he have any work logs? Nope! Did anyone authorized to sign off on a time card see him working these hours? NOPE! Before and after pictures of work, or even a list of apartments, types of work done? Nope!
Granted, if the work was looked at, I doubt he'd have done more than an actual 25 hours of work. And that's insanely optimistic.
So, the little shit tries another tactic, have the wife use big mama to put pressure on the guy who we will generously say, does "work" for the company. I get word that his wife is making him choose, his family, or the company he works for.
I hear about it and am like, COOL! The asshole is gone! But, no, the other guy working needs him for grunt labor. Course, higher up in the company, they hear about the idiot antics, and are like, DUMP HIM! I say, well, we might need him short term for a few things, unfortunately.
So, he gets 15 hours allocated, and once done for the week proceeds to make himself a pest. Calling other workers, round the clock. My toilet leaks(the tank flapper leaks actually)! My wife is bitching! Wah! I want a new toilet!
WTF? They're moving out in 3 months, new tenant will want a newer toilet. Toilet comes in, and they turn to outright badgering. ALL FUCKING DAY!
His wife comes in, cries a river when it looks like they aren't working fast enough for her satisfaction. Toilet is put in, 20 minutes, done!
MFer is FIRED! He's NEVER working for the company again. 10 minutes after close, I get a call, the MFer's lardo wife sat on the toilet, and thinks something is leaking.
Maintenance guy has to drive back across town because the MFer can't figure out how to shut off the water, not at the mains, not at the toilet shutoff. I stay the hell away from the property, because I'm seeing red, and just thinking about KILLING, not just one or two of em, but the whole inbred worthless family.
A few hours later, it's done. Nothing is wrong, but the toilet was reset anyway, tank spacing improved a little, great, whatever. The MFer and his wife are not to set foot in the office, not to call me, knock on my door, or get near me. Because I'm probably going to still kill all the MFers.
So, yeah, nice guy or not, if work doesn't get done, get rid of em. Don't let em think they can hire their more worthless relatives, or that they have job security doing jack.
