Home restorers of Reddit, have you ever restored an old home you thought was haunted? What happened?

Not a home restorer but I have a relevant story. Way back when my grandmother was a child, like 1930 or so, my family lived in New England and had a nice summer home in Downeast Maine. They had an older Irish woman as a maid. One time, after a family party, one of the silver spoons went missing. Suspicion fell on the maid. She denied it, but my great grandfather either fired her or she quit due to the suspicion, she was greatly insulted. Many years pass, and the old place moves along with the family. In those years since then, typical weird things would happen. Open cupboards, misplaced things, strange creaking noises. Eventually, way later, in the 1980s or so it was decided to renovate the kitchen. The old sink was removed and between it and the kitchen wall, my grandmother found the spoon. She said out loud ‘Oh Mary, I’m so sorry’. All the funny spooky stuff stopped that day, and the place never had any strange vibes in my times there.
