Well, his thing is that he leans libertarian. He's socially a little more liberal but fiscally pretty conservative. He's made it very clear that he doesn't believe in sustainable systems.
He believes things must continually experience unrestricted compound growth or else they will die.
Therefore he is interested in things like space travel and fusion. He thinks that will allow unrestricted growth in the long term.
I think it would be neat if he experimented with smart cities and eco-domes. That would allow us to test for more efficient sub systems while preparing the technology to have colonies/stations off of Earth. 2 birds with one stone.
