How do you deal with co-workers that infuriate you on a daily basis?

I think you need to look for another job. Bobby drives business forward and people can ignore him. The culture of the office is to let Bobby have what he wants as long as he brings in money. If Bobby wasn't good at his job then Bobby wouldn't have a job.

So I suggest you either learn to live with it or search for employment elsewhere. Making a huge stink about it, when the boss refuses to do anything, will just make it harder for you to get a good recommendation. Everyone else knows Bobby is full of shit and likely laugh about him behind his back.

Being 'that guy' has to suck and the angrier you get over it, the more power his comments have. He is all talk, thinks he is a big shot, and likely is a lonely individual. Outside of the office he likely doesn't have a lot of power. So, I would pity him more than hate him, because living a life of ignorance and hate has to really suck.

Either way, I would start looking at it like this. You are a better person than Bobby outside of the office. 8 people validate Bobby's existence, or tolerate it. This is probably all he has going for him in his life. So leave knowing what he does is a power struggle inside himself because he will always be the 'foreigner' to everyone. Look at what the boss said, "It's because he is from another country."

You are angry because that is not the way people in your country do it. You were raised to hold people in your culture to a higher standard. But everyone is using the excuse "he is foreign" to justify why he isn't an asshat. That has to blow. No matter what Bobby does, after 23 years he is still the weird foreign guy who has backwards cultural beliefs. He must know this and that is why he has to be right.

No one tries that hard to prove a point, to anyone, unless something about their lives is out of control.

You belong. On some great level, Bobby doesn;t.
