How far up the chain does the incompetence go?

This is the biggest question at target. The more i learn about it the less i blame them though. The main factor is hiring from outside that's killing us. It's not that all the leadership are just dumb / assholes they just haven't learned what it takes to lead people. When any lead asks a subordinate to do something they don't realize how many other things also fall on the subordinate. Targets reached a point where most of the basic duties are half assed because they are otherwise impossible in the given time frame.

So what happens? We cover our asses and lie a little. Then everything is 90% done but reported as 100%. This continues all the way up the line. You only have to go a few level up until no matter how good a corporate lead is they make bad calls due to bad intel.

As a lowly Tm I've gotten the attention of my district / state Tl's and even had my DTL work a truck shift next to me, she almost died. At the end of the day she learned that the Tm jobs are waaay harder than previously thought. She didn't finish the work usually done by a 80 year old though.

Now my state TL is just an idiot. He doesn't like me much. He used to also come in and say everything looks great when it wasn't so one day i marched up and asked him to check a small area. He strides over and sees nothing wrong. So i point out around 12 mistakes made in a 4ft section. Told him if district can't even tell bad from good there's no point in coming into work. We got more payroll and less visits out of it at least.
