How do you feel about making your bed in the morning?

I’m a lazy person and I think even without any facts backing it up it’s perfectly reasonable to not make the bed because you can’t be bothered. I might make it if I was having company round and they might see the bedroom. But otherwise I’ve never seen any point. It might be more organised but I don’t need to have my sheets neatly laid out any more than I need all my books in alphabetical order or my socks arranged by colour. More organisation isn’t necessarily better.

I can see the argument that the ritual of making the bed starts the day on a disciplined and positive note that can cascade into more good decisions as the day progresses. But I think I can achieve the same thing through other ritualised habits that I actually enjoy. Like grinding and brewing my coffee in a mindful way and then going for a walk.
